Blog Homework 3: Your Role Model

Hi guys. It was good to chat today after the long winter holiday break, and I also enjoyed the souvenirs – yummy! Okay, in today’s homework – which is our last blog homework – I’d like you to write about someone you admire... someone you look up to... your role model.

Especially since reading his first book “Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance” I have really come to admire Barack Obama. I think that his journey, from a young man unsure of his own identity to a man so passionate and committed to changing society for the better is just amazing. I really respect him for being so open about his life and experiences so far, and I think his down-to-earth attitude will make him a true “people’s president”. And I really admire the fact that he seems to genuinely care about the situation of people in hardship and of small communities, and that he is not self-centered and just in the game for the money and power. He seems to have a lot of ideas for enacting change and uniting divided sections of the community, and I’m really looking forward to his next four years (hopefully eight) as president.

Okay, so now it’s your turn. Who do you admire, and why? I’m looking forward to reading your responses.

See you in next week’s class – our last class!!

Kris

hi, minasan!!
yesterday is the past,
tomorrow is the future,
and today is the gift.
That's why it called "present"

I have a lot of admiration for my younger brother, Akira, because this year he passed "fireman exam" and he is a fireman in this spring. When he was a child, he wanted to be a fireman in the future. Now his dream has come true!! I could learn the importance of having a dream and making every effort to get my wish from him.
that's why I really respect him.

Hi Kris,

I have lots of people who I respect. Especially about life style and job,I look up to Cindy Crawford. She is 42 years old but she is still continuing a model.
And, she is married and have two children. She seems to shine with hapiness as a woman and business person. I want to be a person who doesn't forget to effort anything like her and lead a full life.

Thank you for reading my comment!

Hi Kris,

I really admire Anna Tsuchiya. She came out as a fashion model and now she is appearing on TV and at a theater. She is also around as a singer. I went to her concert last August. She was beautiful and her voice was very strong. She was divorce and has a boy. She is trying raising him hard. She must be very very busy but she is trying many things. So I want to try hard something I'm instead in as she like.

Hi Ryuji, Yui and Tomoe and thanks for your comments.

Ryuji - I think it's cool that, as the older brother, you respect your younger brother!

Yui - You're so right. People who seem to maintain a balance and happiness in all aspects of their lives, and who carry out many roles in society are definitely people we should look up to.

Tomoe - I finally looked up Anna Tsuchiya, and now I know who she is. I think it's amazing that at such a young age - she's only 24 - that she's experienced and achieved so much, both personally and professionally.

Thanks for your comments guys, and I'm looking forward to reading everyone else's comments!!

Kris - From your comment, I become to be interested Barack Obama more. I like Barack Obama too. I think the U.S would change and I hope so.

Ryuji-You have great brother! I think your brother respects you too.

Yui-She is wonderful! I thik I won't be able to balance both work and house in the future, but I think keep trying is important too.

Tomoe-I was surprise! I love Anna Tuchiya very much! Her everything is so cool, isn't it? Let's taking about her next class.

I look up to my cram school teacher when I was junior high school student. Maybe, she is now 60 years old.
However, she is more energetic than the young! She guided, advised, and encourage me when I have worries. I learned many important things for human being from her. Whenever I meet her, I can get energy.
That's why I really admire her. I wanna be like her.
